SWD-20 and SWD-30 are wind-diesel power plant designed to power a variety of consumers without an access to the main power grid. It allows to generate three phase quality electricity of 220 V 50 Hz (120 V, 60 Hz is also available).
SWD-20 and SWD-30 produce high quality electric power, voltage and frequency wise, due to the frequency converters’ application manufactured with IGBT technologies utilization.
SWD-20 and SWD-30 operate:
- independently, supplying consumers isolated from the energy lines;
- as a part of the network of
commensurable power;
SWD-20 and SWD-30 allow forming wind power stations of 400 kW by combining separate wind turbines into one network.
SWD-20 and SWD-30 can be combined and steadily work with other non-wind power sources (diesel power stations, solar batteries etc.).
SWD-20 and SWD-30 have 20%-30% greater annual power output than competitors’ worldwide.
This is achieved due to:
bigger diameter of the propeller;
low propeller’s rotation frequency;
twisted aerodynamical plastic
blades covered with the special
coating;
blades made to be optimally utilized at every level of the appropriate wind speed range
SWD-20 is designed for the regions with little wind potential and annual average wind speed from 4m/s to 6m/s. SWD-30 is designed for the regions with medium wind potential and annual average wind speed more than 5m/s
COMPONENTS AND OPERATING DESCRIPTION
SWD-20 and SWD-30 components are identical, the degree of construction elements unification is more than 90%:
Rotor (propeller) (three blades, hub with blade’s pitch mechanism);

Rotor (propeller) transforms kinetic energy of the natural wind flow into the mechanical rotation energy of the band wheel shaft. This energy is getting transferred through the power transmission unit to the synchronous generator that transforms mechanical energy into electricity. Automatic control system together with the blades’ pitch system are used to provide converter with the high quality energy. The converter is provided with energy from diesel generator and buffer storage batteries. Automatic control system, depending on consumed power, wind speed and discharge of the storage batteries, provides diesel switching on – switching off. The consumer is provided with electricity through the converter.

Support-rotating unit and yaw damper are meant for the rotor orientation towards the wind and at the same time for excluding undesired head’s oscillations with regards to its pivot shaft.
The construction of the tower is made flexible so that the natural tower’s vibration frequency is lower than the rotor’s one. It allowed to reduce the weight of the tower and to use regular car lifting crane during the wind turbine installation.

The tropical version differs from the basic version by its protective coating and additional technical solutions that allow SWD-20 and SWD-30 to operate at high temperatures, humidity and sea fog.
When delivering complex with diesel power station individual project is elaborated, it takes into consideration particular features of the consumer on the basis of the typical project.
DELIVERY SET, PACKING, TRANSPORTATION
At customer’s wish SW-20 and SW-30 may be delivered together with diesel generator 14 kW and automatic control system.
Delivery sets may vary and are concluded at the point of contract signing.
Wind turbines’ parts are delivered in individual packages that are convenient for any kind of transportation and do simplify assembling process at the site.

Storage batteries and electric cable (the one that is placed in between of wind turbine and the location where the power generating unit is installed) are not included into the delivery set. These parts are purchased separately at the customer’s expense.
Following documentation is included into the delivery set:
Registration certificate;
Operating instructions;
Drawings for the foundation works.
Drawings of the foundation and mounting parts used for the foundation laying can be delivered in advance.
FOUNDATION
Foundation is made of ferroconcrete and mounting parts. The size of the foundation depends on the soil’s type. The sizes bellow are for clayey and sandy soils:
Depth – 200cm;
Pit size - 420 cm x 420 cm;
Total size of the ground for SWD-20 and SWD-30 installation is 4.2x4.2 m.
Required quantity of concrete is approximately 35.5 m?.
Approximate land works - 36 m?.
Mounting parts required for the foundation works are included into the delivery set.
Foundation is developed by the customer at his expense.
INSTALLATION
The tower erection is done by the crane with the lifting capacity of not less then 5 ton and with the shaft length of not less then 24 meters.
